Double Reed Institute

Description:

MPulse Ann Arbor is a summer performing arts phenomenon on the UM campus carrying high school students from around the world to exciting new levels of excellence in music performance, music technology, musical theatre, theatre, and dance. Approximately 200 MPulse participants study with distinguished UM School of Music, Theatre & Dance faculty for two or three weeks each summer while experiencing campus life in Ann Arbor.

Focused on individual instruction for serious high school oboists and bassoonists, the Double Reed Institute provides an intensive two weeks designed to enhance technical and musical skills. Instruction covers reed making, performance skills in individual and group lessons, and practice time, as well as chamber music collaborations with other MPulse sessions and musicianship classes.
